On October 10, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) declared the dates by which internet providers must make a change. As of April 10, 2024 for large suppliers and October 10, 2024 for small suppliers, broadband internet providers will be required to transparently disclose what they are charging customers for. This new transparency will make service decisions much easier for customers due to there being more detailed, consumer-friendly language.
Because broadband labelling is now required thanks to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, bright and labeled price tags declaring your charges will now be present at your purchase of an internet subscription. These labels will include details about interest rates, internet speeds, data plans, and "junk fees," (FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel).
As such, customers will better be able to compare on contrast what each internet plan and provider has to offer and choose a service based on their own specific needs. This will help people save money and simultaneously get the most out of their purchase.
